I was rather taken with the lead singer from Man Man's impressive mustache at the Arcade Fire show last week, not to mention their really fascinating crazy go-apeshit-of-a-performance. For months, I've been trying to get all my capable friends to grow staches of their own. Being of non-mustache-growing ethnic origin puts me at a significant disadvantage. My prospects for growing a respectable one are not good. Unfortunately, everyone who I've tried to live vicariously through, seems to have no interest in the idea whatsoever. It's been really really disheartening. Then, just today, I got emailed a couple of beautiful photographs of my friend's new art project, which is, in fact, the development of his very own stache! 
I'm really speechless. It's such a wonderful surprise and just look at how nice & handsome it is this early on in the development phase. Also, take a look at the pure joy he's displaying! The possibilities just have my mind in a boggle. What an inspiration! It's as if the it [the stache] is pushing him to be a bigger & better person. Thanks for lifting my spirits Ben, and keep up the good work! I'm really looking forward to seeing where this goes.
On a related note, Deirdre and I really wanted to go and support the final meeting of the fantastic charity Mustaches For Kids last December. But, we dropped the ball and forgot about it. Oh, the humanity. If you're not going to do it for me, or for the sake of art like my friend Ben, do it for the children.
